Day Beach Enode
Welcome to the page of Day Beach Enode.
Day beach Enode is a recreational lake in Nuenen. The municipality has been manager of the day beach since 2021. In the years 2022 and 2023 work was done to further develop a future perspective for the structural management.
In 2022 there was a questionnaire among residents and the college decided to develop a "Small-scale accessible and high-quality day beach with appropriate management form. In October 2023 it was decided that from 2024 the management will remain structurally with the municipality. The municipality will provide a clean and well-maintained day beach. To keep day beach Enode accessible for everyone, there is no entrance fee, there is a public bicycle shed and free parking. But that also means that there are no facilities such as a public toilet and there is no swimming supervision.
Supervision: no
Drift lines: yes
Access: free
Catering: adjacent commercial party
Public restrooms: no
Bathing water is monitored by the Water Board from May through September. You can view the current water quality during the swimming season at zwemwater.nl
We ask all users to be mindful of the house rules below and wish everyone lots of swimming fun!
House rules day beach Enode
Dagstrand Enode is a recreational lake in Nuenen. The municipality is manager of the swimming lake. Residents and others can use the swimming facilities free of charge every day. However, we ask all users to observe the house rules.
- Entering Day Beach Enode and swimming in the lake is at your own risk. There are no lifeguards to supervise.
- Be considerate of each other in and near the water.
- At the entrance to the Day Beach Enode there are trash cans to throw away litter. We expect everyone to leave "their spot" clean and thus throw their own trash in the garbage cans or do so at home.
- The day beach, the word says it all, is accessible during the day. For both safety and to prevent nuisance, it is forbidden to be on the premises after sunset. Our supervisors actively enforce this.
- Due to fire danger, we do not allow barbecues, campfires or other open fires on the day beach.
- To avoid inconvenience to local residents and other bathers, loud music is not allowed. Alcohol and drug use is also not allowed.
- For safe fun in the water, jet skis, motor boats or other motorized water vehicles are prohibited.
- Would you like to fish? For that you can (if you possess the necessary papers) go to the adjacent fishing pond.
- Again for safety: do not dive.
- Dogs are not allowed.
- In case of acute danger: call 112.
Every year about 100 people drown in open water in the Netherlands.
View the campaign and tips for using open water safely at: www.veiliginenuithetwater.nl
Some tips to minimize the risk of drowning:
- Swim only where allowed and let people back home know where you will be swimming(www.zwemwater.nl).
- Keep a constant eye on young children especially and do not let them swim or play in the water alone, and never swim alone yourself. Stay in the water at arm's length away from each other and your (small) child.
- Warn your child of the possible dangers, give clear instructions and make arrangements. Can't your child swim? Then get in the water up to your child's knees and no further.
- Keep in mind currents, waves, deep and cold water. Especially in spring, the outside water is still very cold.
Events at day beach Enode
Day beach Enode is a location for (water) recreation, it is not an event site. On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen made a decision about events on day beach Enode. The document Uitgangspunten evenementen dagstrand Enode contains all starting points that apply (at least) for a period from 2023 to 2027.
Some principles:
- A maximum of six days per year are available for events
- Events are allowed only outside the swimming season (October to April)
- Events have a sports and/or games character
- Events last a maximum of two consecutive days
- Events have a closing time of 7 p.m. or sunset
- The organizer of an event must at least take into account the Nature Protection Act
- For each event, a usage agreement including compensation for the use of the site is drawn up and signed in advance by the municipality and organizer
There is one exception to the established principles. The American CustomCar Weekend received an environmental permit in 2016 to hold an event on day beach Enode for the duration of 10 years. This event is still subject to an exception to the starting points for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025.
However, for 2023, 2024 and 2025, the number of days of the event (often three days in the past) is deducted from the total days available for events on day beach Enode.
Requesting an event, appropriate to the principles at Day Beach Enode, can be done through the Organizing an Event webpage
