During the fire party at the barracks on Saturday, Oct. 8, Mayor Maarten Houben presented several awards to departing members of the Nuenen station, namely:

Anne-Marie Berkhout - Schellens: farewell after 15 years in the fire department
Wilfred Clermonts: farewell after 20 years in the fire department
Dimitry de Wit: farewell after 20 years in the fire department
Jan van Kemenade: farewell after 40 years of fire department, of which 20 years post Nuenen
Anne-Marie Berkhout - Schellens: farewell after 15 years in the fire department
On Jan. 1, 2007, Anne-Marie joined the Nuenen Volunteer Fire Department. She officially left service on March 1, 2022. After various training courses, she was promoted to manhood A. Anne-Marie can be seen as a figurehead for more women in the fire department. On the occasion of her farewell after 15 years of fire department, she now receives the municipal medal of honor in silver.
Wilfred Clermonts: farewell after 20 years in the fire department
On September 1, 2002, Wilfred joined the Nuenen Volunteer Fire Department. As of November 2, 2022, he will no longer be an active member of the Nuenen Fire Department. Wilfred started 20 years ago as a crew member, and soon started training as a driver/pump attendant as well. Coming from Nederwetten, he was the regular driver of the 2nd tanker for a long time. After various courses, he was promoted to crew A, driver/pump operator of the tanker and vehicle operator of the new water transport system vehicle for a distance of 400 meters. In addition, Wilfred provided many tours for the elementary school of Nuenen at the fire station. On the occasion of his retirement after 20-years, he will receive (in addition to the bronze firefighter's cross with crown) the municipal medal of honor in silver.
Dimitry de Wit: farewell after 20 years in the fire department
On May 1, 2001, Dimitry joined the Nuenen Volunteer Fire Department. After various trainings, promotions to commanding officer followed. In addition, Dimitry was also appointed as a fire driver. After moving to Erp, he joined the volunteer fire department there. On the occasion of his farewell after 20 years, he receives (in addition to the bronze firefighter's cross with crown) the municipal medal of honor in silver.
Jan van Kemenade: farewell after 40 years of fire department, of which 20 years post Nuenen
On September 1, 2002, Jan joined the Nuenen Volunteer Fire Department. Until April 1, 2021 he was a volunteer at Post Nuenen. After various training courses, he was promoted to man A and driver. Jan was also a confidential advisor for colleagues in Nuenen for a long time. Regionally, Jan also held the role as a member of the Fire Brigade Reception Team. In 2020 he already received a royal decoration for his
long-term commitment to the volunteer fire department. On the occasion of his farewell after 20 years of voluntary fire department in Nuenen and 40 years of the Netherlands Fire Service, he will also receive (in addition to the fire department award gold-plated fire department cross with laurel wreath) the municipal medal of honor in silver.
