World Alzheimer's Day
On World Alzheimer's Day, extra attention is paid worldwide to dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Nuenen is a dementia-friendly municipality. Around this day, the municipality together with local partners organizes activities for people with dementia, their loved ones and caregivers. Participation in these activities is free of charge.
Saturday, September 20 - Test rides with Fietsmaatjes Nuenen
In cooperation with LEVgroep and the municipality of Nuenen, Fietsmaatjes Nuenen provides free test rides on an electric duo bike. A volunteer cycles along, you enjoy the beautiful surroundings and a pleasant coffee break.

Monday, Sept. 22 - Dementia-friendly walk 'In search of Van Gogh'
Gemeente Nuenen and the Van Gogh Village Museum invite people with dementia and their caregivers to a dementia-friendly walk on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025.
The walking route is dedicated to Vincent van Gogh. During a walk past various monuments, an experienced guide will tell stories about Nuenen in the past and that striking resident of the time. Along the route there are plenty of benches where you can take a break. An enjoyable outing and an opportunity to reminisce and share memories together! Departure is from the Van Gogh Village Museum Nuenen. Will you join us?
