Who are you nominating for the volunteer award and youth ribbon?
Do you know someone who deserves special recognition as a volunteer? Someone who inspires you or who has done exceptional volunteer work in 2023? Sign him or her up!
Every year the municipality of Nuenen presents the volunteer award and the youth ribbon. Volunteers are enormously important in our municipality. The award and the ribbon are a symbolic token of appreciation for all volunteers in our municipality.
The volunteer award consists of a nice memento for the volunteer and an amount of € 1,000 for the organization for which the volunteer works. The youth ribbon consists of the coveted ribbon and an amount of € 150.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the volunteer award and the youth ribbon, the volunteer work must be non-professional and performed for a social organization in Nuenen or for one or more residents of our municipality. The voluntary work performed must have lasted at least five years. It is not required that the volunteer is affiliated with an association or foundation. No distinction will be made in this regard. The years of voluntary work done consecutively on several fronts and/or organizations can be added up. Candidates must be residents of the municipality of Nuenen.
For the youth ribbon, the only requirement is that the candidate must be under 18 on the closing date of nominations.
A volunteer who has previously received the volunteer award, a municipal ribbon or a royal ribbon is not eligible for the volunteer award.
Procedure
Nominations will be reviewed by the "volunteer award committee." The "volunteer award committee" consists of people involved in volunteer work in Nuenen. It tests the nominees against the criteria and advises the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
The presentation of the volunteer award and youth ribbon will take place during the municipality's New Year's meeting.
