4. Debt relief in Nuenen
Stefanie Leijssen and Mike Raijmakers are executive debt counselors with the LEV group.
What are the numbers in Nuenen?
Nuenen scores average across the board. Nuenen is one of the wealthiest municipalities in the Netherlands but Nuenen also has residents with debts.
There are three debt counselors in total in the municipality of Nuenen.
The caseload is around 60 to 70 new pathways per year. It often takes years for people who have fallen into debt to come forward for help.
How do we connect with each other?
Multiple channels for example at the church, LEV group (CMD) and food bank.
In addition, there is a so-called RIS system. This system helps with early signaling so that people who are behind on payments are in sight of the LEV group. A number of parties are required by law to cooperate with this system, such as energy companies, private individuals and health care companies. There are margins built into this system as soon as people get above this threshold they receive a letter at home.
Debt relief buddy
Unique in Nuenen is the project Schuldhulpmaatje with which the LEV group cooperates. The project is an addition to the current facilities. The LEV group is divided into two teams, namely an adult team and a youth team. Because of the relatively small organizations there are short lines of communication. The processes are well aligned.
5. Measure Regulation
Lisa van der Meij, policy advisor for Work and Income gives a presentation on the measure ordinance.
It concerns the Regulation Measures PW, IOAW and IOAZ. This regulation is and the new one will be an elaboration of Article 18 Participation Act.
These are measures that can be imposed when a person receiving benefits fails to fulfill work or other obligations. The measures themselves involve a reduction in benefits. Different percentages apply to different behaviors. The duration of the measure can also vary, depending on the circumstances. In principle, the goal of the measures is for the person concerned to change the behavior and start fulfilling the obligations.
The request to the ASD is to advise on the regulation and the policy choices made in it.
Within two weeks, Lisa will send the old measure ordinance and the new one to the ASD. If there are questions, compile them for the next ASD meeting.
6. Recruitment of new members
An advertisement has been prepared for the recruitment of new members. The text is a draft and is still being adjusted. When the ASD submits the texts to Luuk, he will send the final text to the Communications Department for placement in the local newspaper, Nuenen municipality site and social media.
An evening coffee discussion was chosen in early March with Luuk Wigard, Marian Gersen and Wilma van Aken.
7. Farewell Jacqueline
