Types of ceremony

• Time: Monday through Thursday on the hour (not on the half-hour) between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  This is subject to our ability to provide an available staff member and a location. 

• Language: Dutch. 
   
• Duration: 15 to 20 minutes. 
   
• Wedding venue: the wedding hall at City Hall. 
   
• Number of guests: The wedding hall can accommodate about 20–25 people. 
   
• Wedding officiant:
  We will be happy to select a suitable and available wedding officiant for you. You cannot specify a preference here. It is not possible to use your own wedding officiant (not employed by the municipality of Nuenen) for this type of ceremony. 
   
• Music
  No music is played during a simple ceremony. 
   
• Preliminary track  
  In a simple ceremony, there is no time for speeches by other guests. A speech by the officiant is optional. Would you like one? If so, this Dutch-language speech will be written especially for you, based on
  • a questionnaire containing practical information,
  • a letter in which you describe your personal story and wishes.
     

• Registration deadline (ceremony including speech)
  If you would like a personalized speech, please allow approximately 8 weeks between the time of registration and your wedding or civil partnership ceremony. If you register later than this, there is a risk that there will not be enough time to prepare a speech. 

• Modification/cancellation 
  Please note that after registration, change fees are in effect as soon as you change witnesses/day/time, for example.
  • up to 1 week before the ceremony: € 85,00
  • 1 week or less before the ceremony: €137.50

• A marriage/partnership certificate is included. 

Cost 

• Time
  • 24 hours a day on the hour (no half hours), subject to official and location availability.
  • Available 7 days a week.

• Language
  Dutch-language or English-language speech (note: none of our wedding officiants are native speakers).
   
• Duration
  The ceremony lasts up to 45 minutes. 

• Wedding Location
  • Town hall (wedding hall).
    This venue can accommodate 20/25 people.
  • D'n Kleine Dommel
    Prior to your report, make a reservation at D'n Kleine Dommel.
  • Van Gogkerkje Nuenen
    Prior to your report, make a reservation at the Van Goghkerkje.
  • The Water Mill of Opwetten
    Prior to your report, make a reservation at The Water Mill.
  • Other venues in Nuenen can be nominated as one-time wedding venues as follows:
    • Register your marriage/partnership using the online notification form.
    • Enter in the "additional information" field that you are choosing a private wedding venue.
    • We will contact you to arrange the one-time designation with you.

• Preferred wedding officiant
  You can submit your preference for a wedding officiant from our team. You can do this through the online notification form. 

• Deploying your own wedding officiant
  Please read carefully the associated Requirements and additional costs to avoid disappointment.
  When registering your wedding/partnership, please indicate in the 'additional information' box that you are using your own wedding officiant. If in doubt: contact us(040 - 263 1631 / trouwen@nuenen.nl), and we will check together whether your desired babs are eligible to perform your ceremony.
   

• Music
  You may play music (please provide your own) upon arrival or while signing the deed. 

• Registration Deadline (Ceremony Including Speech) 
  If you would like a personalized speech, please allow approximately 10 weeks between the time of registration and your ceremony. If you register later than that, there is a risk that there will not be enough time to prepare a speech. 
   
• Preparation 
  We ask you to provide the following input.
  • A questionnaire with practical information.
  • A letter in which you share your personal story and your wishes for the speech. A speech is optional; you may also choose to have a ceremony without a personal speech or additional decorations. 

• Preparation
  Prior to the ceremony, you will have a personal meeting with your wedding officiant. Here your wishes and the possibilities will be discussed. During the preliminary interview, your babs will gather additional information to incorporate into his/her speech.
   
• Wedding/partnership booklet is included.
   
• You may take the parker pen you use to sign the deed with you afterwards.

Cost

Free ceremony

• Only possible if 1 of you both lives in Nuenen.
• Space for up to 10 people (including (bridal) couple/witnesses).
• The ceremony takes place in a consulting room at City Hall.
• Only the legal part of the marriage/partnership ceremony is covered.
• No pre-meeting with the wedding officiant, music or speeches possible.
