Join the conversation about energy transition on June 4

This is an old post.

To keep our environment pleasant, our CO2 emissions must be reduced a lot. This is possible, but then we must move to a different way of generating and using energy. Examples of alternative energy sources are solar and wind energy, geothermal energy and waste heat. Switching to these types of alternative energy sources is a tall order. Under the heading "energy transition," 30 regions in the Netherlands are in the process of devising a strategy for this. That strategy must answer questions such as: what opportunities do we have to save (even more) energy? Where in the region are places for sustainable energy generation, such as solar parks or windmills? How can we use sustainable sources so that we no longer depend on gas to heat buildings?

Nuenen is discussing this with the 20 other municipalities in the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region. This has resulted in a draft document describing a strategy for energy transition within our region; the Regional Energy Strategy (RES). Because the energy transition affects everyone, we would like to invite you to participate in the discussion and to take note of the strategy we want to follow as a region.
