Online parent night: Performance pressure in teens

More and more teens are experiencing pressure to perform, whether at school, through social media or in their social circles. This pressure can create stress, tension and uncertainty. As a parent or caregiver, you sometimes see your child asking a lot of himself or herself. But is this Health about performance pressure actually justified? What do we really know about it and how can you deal with it in a healthy way?

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025 GGD Brabant-Zuidoost organizes an online parent evening on performance pressure in teenagers. Guest speaker Aniek van den Braak, expert at the Nederlands Centrum Jeugdgezondheid, will take you into the world of young people and their mental well-being. She shows how performance pressure arises, what it can do to young people and, most importantly, what you as a parent can do to help your teenager.

In addition, Aniek shares practical tips and tools: how do you support your child without unintentionally adding pressure? How do you remain confident in your conversation, and how do you offer support that really works?

For whom
This online parent evening is intended for parents and caregivers of teens, but other interested parties are also welcome.
