Temporary emergency energy fund for vulnerable households
Vulnerable households with high energy bills can turn to the Temporary Emergency Energy Fund starting Feb. 7, 2023. The Emergency Fund will pay part of the energy bill for eligible households from October 2022 through March 2023. Households can apply for Emergency Fund assistance for the entire period starting now.
Who can apply for support from the Emergency Energy Fund?
The following households can receive support from the Emergency Fund:
- The household has a gross income of up to 200% of the social minimum. Then the gross monthly income is less than € 2,980 (single) or € 3,794 (cohabitating). The amounts include 8% vacation allowance.
- Households have their own contract for gas, electricity and/or district heat with an energy supplier. It does not matter with which energy supplier. The bill (depending on income) exceeds 10 to 13% of the combined gross income.
How much support does a household receive from the Emergency Fund?
The Emergency Fund pays the portion of the monthly utility bill that exceeds 10 to 13% of a household's combined gross income. Support from the Emergency Fund is as follows:
