Residents participate in thinking about renewable energy

This is an old post.

Inhabitants of the 21 municipalities in the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region can participate in thinking about the future of energy and climate. They can do so through the online survey at hetpon.nl/RES-ZOB (closing date: December 14, 2020). In the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region, plans have been made for a future-proof region. An initial impetus can be found in the (draft) Regional Energy Strategy (RES). Now that these broad outlines are known, residents are invited to give their input to the plans.

Input for final plans

With this research this survey, the 21 municipalities want to get a picture of the wishes, concerns and suggestions around energy and climate. The survey includes questions about energy conservation and alternatives to natural gas for heating homes. Residents can also give their opinion on the generation of sustainable energy with solar parks and wind turbines. For example, where do you want them to locate solar fields and wind farms, and (how) do you want them to think about and participate in this? The research is conducted by knowledge institute the PON.

To RES 1.0

The draft RES sent to the State in September contains the results of many studies, discussions and meetings, and more than a year of work preceded this. Over the next few months, work is underway toward the so-called RES 1.0, which will be ready in March 2021.

A flash poll of residents in the Southeast Brabant region was conducted in early 2020. The results were included in the draft RES, which was finalized in the summer. The Internet consultation builds on this and presents questions that are relevant to the RES 1.0. Residents who want to contribute their thoughts on this, go to hetpon.nl/RES-ZOB. Completion is possible until Monday, December 14.
