Municipalities make efforts for Tozo jobless entrepreneurs

This is an old post.

Together with neighboring municipalities, social work company WSD and Dienst Dommelvallei, the municipality of Nuenen has developed an approach for self-employed entrepreneurs who have no or less work due to the corona crisis. The aim is to guide these entrepreneurs in continuing the business or to look together for salaried work so that they do not end up on welfare.

Tozo scheme

Self-employed entrepreneurs who have run into financial difficulties could claim the Tozo scheme (Temporary Bridging Scheme for Self-Employed Entrepreneurs). Starting in June, a second Tozo scheme was opened for the period until October. If this scheme ceases to exist, entrepreneurs who still have insufficient income at the end of the scheme may be eligible for municipal assistance.

Staying at work

Alderman Ralf Stultiëns: "We would like people to stay at work and not end up on welfare because of the corona crisis. I am proud that together with our neighboring municipalities, Dienst Dommelvallei and and WSD we are able to organize the approach by offering customization for these entrepreneurs."

Personal guidance

Employees of the municipalities will discuss the future with the affected entrepreneurs. Together they look at what guidance is needed. With this customized solution, municipalities hope to prevent an increase in the number of assistance applications. Entrepreneurs can apply for the new Tozo scheme via the website of the participating municipalities. They will then be approached for the approach.
