What is it?

If you want to use municipal land, you need permission from the municipality. For example, if you want to use municipal land:

  • as a garden or pasture;
  • For storage of construction materials;
  • To place a container on it.

What to do.

You can report the use of municipal land online. For this you need DigiD (individuals) or eRecognition (companies). If you do not yet have a DigiD, you can apply for one via DigiD. You can apply for eRecognition via eRecognition.

Preferably include a situation sketch with the application.

After putting the designated space into use, we will verify that it is in accordance with the Requirements . When you make the notification, you declare that you have no or insufficient space on your own property.

At the end of the reporting period, everything must be removed again. Damage caused by temporary use will be recovered from the notifier.

How does it work?

Exemption for placing objects on, on or above the road

It is prohibited to use the road or a section of road other than in accordance with its public function if:

  • the use causes or may cause damage to the road, obstructs or may obstruct the usability of the road, or constitutes or may constitute an obstacle to the management or maintenance of the road;
  • the use does not conform to reasonable standards of appearance.

If you meet the Requirements , you do not need to apply for a waiver. If you do not meet the Requirements, you can apply online.

Please note that an obstruction to the usability of the road exists in any case if at least a free passage of 1.20 linear meters is not left on footpaths and of 3.50 linear meters on the carriageway for bicycles or motorized traffic.

You can read the rules in the General Local Regulation (section 5 article 2:10 Objects on or at the road).
