Three royal awards during custom 2020 Ribbon Race
During a custom ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mayor Maarten Houben visited three Nuenen decorandi on Friday morning, April 24:
- Mr. Frans van den Bogaert
- Mr. Cees Meijvis
- Mr. Frans van Maasakkers
Together with accordionist Willem van der Heijden and colleague Benedikte Schulkes, the mayor rang the doorbell of the decoree and laid flowers on the doormat. Then he addressed the gentlemen from an appropriate distance. Among other things, he told them that they were receiving a Royal Decoration: Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau. The actual presentation of the awards will probably take place later in the year. Accordionist Willem closed the visit with live music.

In this way, the mayor was able to highlight the decorandi - despite the current corona measures. Congratulations to all!
Mr. Frans van den Bogaert
Mr. Frans van den Bogaert (19-02-1949) has been socially active in various fields. He became a board member of tennis club De Lissevoort in 1986, 11 years as treasurer and 3 years as chairman. In 2000 he was appointed an honorary member. Since 2000 he has remained active as a volunteer in various fields for the club: 1986 general board member, 1987-1997 treasurer, 1997 - 2000 chairman, from 2001 chairman jubilee committee, tournament leader Nuenen championships, organizer district master championships, member jubilee committee, manager of archives, ad hoc advisor board, co-initiator construction artificial grass courts, construction of own pavilion and privatization tennis facilities Nuenen.
Within the KNLTB, he was treasurer for Eindhoven for 5 years (1999-2004) and a member of the National Council of Members from 2005-2013.
He has also worked for housing association Helpt Elkander as a member of the Supervisory Board, within Rabobank as a member of the members' council and within the municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo as a member of the audit committee.
He has also been active in Associations of Owners Het Oog van Nuenen.
Mr. van den Bogaert is decorated as a Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
Mr. Cees Meijvis
Mr. Cees Meijvis (15-09-1949) has dedicated himself for years to the first aid in Nuenen. He received his first aid diploma in 1981. From 1981 to 2001 he was deputy chairman. Became a first aid instructor in 1985, taught for 25 years at the Association First Aid Geldrop and Eindhoven. After 2010 he became a member of first aid association Nuenen.
He has dedicated himself for years as an aid worker at many events in Geldrop. He dedicates himself to events in Nuenen, including sports competitions, tournaments, etc.
He has been a first aider at PSV home games from 1996 to the present.
In addition, he still makes himself useful on the LEV Group's handyman team.
Within Rabobank, he was a member of the members' council for many years, where he managed to mean a lot for Nuenen with his social insight.
Mr. Meijvis is decorated as a Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
Mr. Frans van Maasakkers
Mr. Frans van Maasakkers (5-5-1946) has dedicated himself for many years during his working life and still dedicates himself to numerous organizations as a volunteer. He has made himself extremely deserving at, among others, the LON Nuenen, OnsNet Nuenen, VVD Nuenen, Zwem en Polo vereniging Nuenen, PlatOO, Stichting Verpleging & Verzorging de Archipel and Zorgcentrum de Akkers.
He put the LON on the Map . He is the great engine and creative brain behind the technological developments of the LON. He has a decisive role both nationally and in East Brabant within the development of public local broadcasting. He shows great commitment to events in Nuenen. He also knows and arranges everything there.
As chairman of the VVD, he steered VVD Nuenen through a difficult time, making himself especially deserving in the process of the failure of the then proposed redivision.
He has been president of the Nuenen Swimming and Polo Association.
Mr. van Maasakkers is decorated as a Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
