What is it?

The social participation scheme provides low-income people with compensation for social cultural and sports activities, for example, sports club membership fees.

The amount of the contribution is €150 per family member per year, of which a maximum of €50 is eligible for reimbursement for tickets to amusement parks, cinemas, etc.

Eligible activities and facilities

  • Sports and recreation
  • swimming tickets, swimming subscriptions, swimming lessons;
  • sports and hobby association membership;
  • sports recreational activities;
  • membership and gardeners association;
  • Participation in fitness, sports centers, etc.
  • (Social) cultural activities
  • museum annual pass;
  • Participation in courses and/or activities in the cultural field;
  • library membership;
  • art/creative education participation;
  • follow music education;
  • participation in neighborhood/neighborhood association activities;
  • participation in activities elderly organizations and elderly associations;
  • participation in other activities such as choirs, guilds, and women's, music and carnival societies.
  • Education
  • Participation in courses and/or activities in the educational field;
  • participation formation week;
  • nature and environmental education participation.
  • Entry tickets (named or unnamed, reimbursement up to a maximum of €50.00)
  • cultural performances (drama, pop concerts, dance, cabaret), etc;
  • amusement parks, cinema attendance, etc.

What to do.

You apply for the social participation contribution scheme from the municipality using the digital application form (green application button at the top). To apply for special assistance you need DigiD. If you do not yet have this, you can apply for it via the DigiD website

The social participation contribution scheme is designed for low-income people. Each scheme has different Requirements and your income and asset limit may be different. The assistance standard is not the same for everyone. The amount depends on your age and family situation.

Requirements

  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • Your income does not exceed 120% of the applicable social assistance standard. For the income that is higher, a 35% support percentage will be applied.
  • Your own assets do not exceed the asset limit. For a single person the limit is €7,770.00 and for single parents and couples €15,540.00.
