Decision-making council meeting June 5
On Thursday 5 June there will be a decision-making council meeting at 7:30 PM in the Council Chamber of Het Klooster Temporalis (De Pinckart 24).
The following topics are on the agenda, among others:
Policy Framework 2026
The policy framework is an important document for the municipal council. It helps to determine which plans and wishes the board of mayor and aldermen must further elaborate. These plans are then included in the budget. The plans and associated costs are finally determined via the budget. Why is this important?
The council can participate in discussions in time, supplement plans and add new ideas via amendments and motions. In this way, the council can adjust choices or instruct the board to investigate something further.Views on budgets of joint arrangements 2026
For some tasks, such as youth care, fire brigade and waste collection, the municipality works together with other municipalities in a joint arrangement (GR). Each GR draws up a budget each year. The municipal council may give an opinion on this; this is called a point of view. With this, the council states what it finds good or bad in the plan. The board of the GR must take this reaction seriously.
Why is this important?
In this way, the municipal council maintains influence on the money and policy of the collaborating organizations.
