What is it?

Litter is waste that does not end up in the waste bin, for example cigarette butts, chewing gum, candy wrappers, bottles and cans. We would like to work with you to ensure that streets, squares, parks and outdoor areas in Nuenen stay clean. That is more pleasant for everyone. Various groups of residents help the municipality and clean up litter themselves.

Also become a volunteer

The municipality of Nuenen works to clean up litter with nearly 200 ZAP volunteers, (Zwerf-Afval-Pakkers) Would you also like to keep your neighborhood clean and tidy? Then join the ZAP volunteers. The municipality provides clean-up materials (vests, grabbers, garbage bags) and makes arrangements with you to pick up the litter. Interested? Let us know(afval@nuenen.nl) A facebook group "Nuenen Schoon" has been established since February 2021 by 2 residents who are very involved in litter picking. The municipality is now talking to them regularly. Share successes with this group. There is an app "Helemaal groen" where you can keep track of which streets have been cleaned. Health that you get to work safely and if there is large waste (or looks like asbestos) please make a report via the website of the municipality of Nuenen or the outside better app. We hope that by the great approach of you as residents together with the WSD, which also cleans our streets, we will see a great improvement in the streetscape. If you are not active after a while, no problem please sign out. Then we will collect the set from you again and can lend this out again.

Young waste heroes

Through an education program, we teach elementary school youth (ages 7 to 12) that throwing trash on the street is really not okay. Through a guest lesson and a neighborhood clean-up campaign, students learn about the importance of a clean environment and nature. Let us know if your school is interested in this.(afval@nuenen.nl)
