The Winkeltijdenwet and the 'Winkeltijdenverordening Nuenen 2013' (see Winkeltijdenverordening on overheid.nl) regulate that stores may also be open on Sundays and holidays between 06:00 and 22:00. The opening offers the entrepreneur opportunities but does not oblige him or her to anything.

Weekly market

The weekly market in Nuenen is on Monday afternoons from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Park in Nuenen. 

Due to the renovation of the Klooster, the weekly market has been temporarily relocated to the paved area around the bandstand since September 2024. Following consultation between the municipality and the Nuenen Weekly Market Foundation, it has been decided that the weekly market will remain at this location through 2027 (the agreement with the foundation expires on January 1, 2028). As a result, closing the road (Park) is no longer necessary.
