Social Support Act (Wmo).
What is it?
Most people want to live in their familiar surroundings for as long as possible. Sometimes this requires support. For example, due to old age, disability or illness.
Fortunately, there are often family members, neighbors or friends willing to lend a hand. If this help is not enough, the municipality can provide support. This is regulated in the Social Support Act (Wmo).
What to do.
The starting point is your own responsibility. You are not automatically entitled to a facility. The municipality first examines with you whether you can arrange the necessary help yourself, for example through family, neighbors or acquaintances. If this is not possible, or not possible to a sufficient extent, we will examine with you whether you qualify for an individual provision. This may include the following facilities:
- Domestic help
- Mobility scooter, wheelchair or shared cab
- Residential facility
- Guidance
- Day care
- Client Support
- Mantel Care
- Handicapped parking pass
- Personal (non-medical) care
- Protected Living
- Short-term stay in care facility
- Parental abuse(safe home)
- Debt relief
- Emergency Fund
- Relief for the chronically ill and disabled
- Social work

Bring
If you have an appointment it is a good idea to ask someone to be present at the meeting. Someone you trust and who knows your situation well. Before the interview, list some things, such as the things that are going well and those that are not going so well and where you need support. Also consider whether there are people around you who can help you with certain things.
What does it cost?
You pay a co-payment for most facilities.
