Report meeting Gerwen in flux Sept. 15, 2022

On September 15, 2022, about 30 residents from Gerwen met to further discuss making home sustainability plans, some for the first time. A total of about 45 residents from Gerwen are now involved in the process. When asked how many people have variable energy contracts, half of those present responded positively. Major concerns therefore. All the more reason to get to work now.

Insight! That was the theme on the second evening of Gerwen in Stroomversnelling. Insight into your home, insight into your energy consumption. But also insight into the possibilities that are available to make a plan for your home. If you want to save on energy, how do you go about it? Where should you start? When can you switch to a hybrid heat pump? What steps can you take yourself and how can the municipality support? The evening was supervised by the energy coaches of Energiehuis Slim Wonen and employees of the municipality of Nuenen.

The temperature 80˚ through 60˚ to 40˚

The evening focused on the approach that assumes homes can eventually be heated to a temperature of 40˚C. Without gas. The 'how' is of later Health. It is important, at one's own pace, to work towards that temperature of 40˚C in a number of steps. This takes into account a healthy and pleasant living environment (including ventilation) in the house. And it must be affordable.

Saving, saving, saving

What you don't consume you don't have to generate. What can you save in energy? That's the first step. For example, 1 degree lower, from 20 to 19, saves 7% gas. And where is energy leaking into your home? What about ventilation? Residents with similar homes engaged in a conversation about what you can do. The meeting with Gerwen residents loosened tongues. What can you learn from each other? Do you have good ideas? Share them with each other. With a list full of concrete tips for saving money, everyone went home. And with real 'homework'.

Next meeting: December 8!
