Traffic delays at the intersection of Smits van Oyenlaan and the A270

The new traffic lights are expected to be installed by late afternoon (July 7). From that point on, the lights will flash orange.
On Wednesday morning, July 8, the software will be configured and tested. If everything works properly, the traffic lights will resume normal operation afterward.
Until then, the traffic lights will not be working. The lights will be flashing orange. Therefore, please follow the traffic rules that apply at the intersection. Starting in the late afternoon, there will be no traffic controllers present
Starting Tuesday, July 7, at 7:00 a.m., there will be construction work at the intersection of Smits van Oyenlaan and the A270/Helmondweg. The traffic signal system is being replaced. It was previously damaged in an accident.
The work will likely take one day. It may extend into Wednesday, July 8.
The road will remain open to all traffic. However, traffic in both directions will be temporarily reduced from two lanes to one lane. Buses will also be able to continue operating as usual.
Traffic controllers are on site to direct traffic. Their main job is to ensure that the on- and off-ramps to the A270/Helmondweg remain clear. This is how we aim to prevent traffic jams on the A270 as much as possible.
The contractor Hoeflake Infratechniek is carrying out the work. Please expect a brief delay.
