What is it?
Types of Municipal extracts
Extract BRP
An extract from the BRP is proof that you are registered with the municipality. It contains your name, address and place of residence. It may need to include other information, such as your marital status, date of residence in the municipality or your address history. In that case, choose from an extract from the options indicated, and/or indicate this additionally when placing your order in the comments field.
Legal representatives (parents/guardians) of minor children may request Municipal extracts for their children without written permission. You can find what information about you and your minor children is in the BRP by logging on to MijnOverheid.
Copy / excerpt of marital status (deed).
If you want to prove a birth, death, marriage, partner registration, divorce or dissolution in writing, you need a transcript of civil status (deed). You can request this from the municipality where the event took place.
International extract from BRP
Do you need an extract for a foreign authority? Then you can get an extract in several languages.
Attestation de vita
When you need international proof that you are alive, you need an attestation de vita. You apply for the attestation de vita at the municipality.
Note: If you want to prove a birth, death, marriage, partnership registration, divorce or dissolution in writing, you will need a civil record (certificate). You can request this from the municipality where that event took place.
What to do.
You request the extract BRP from the municipality where you are registered. You can request the extract in two ways:
Apply online
You can arrange the extract directly online. For this you need DigiD. If you do not yet have a DigiD, you can apply for one via DigiD.
If you, as the legal representative, want to request an extract for your minor children, you can also do so online as explained above.
We aim to process and complete your request within 3 business days. The original extract / transcript will be sent to you by mail only.
Applying at the counter
You can also request an extract at the counter of the town hall. To do so, you must make an Make an appointment.
