Textile collection bins are being replaced

Starting in August, textile collection in the municipality of Nuenen will change. The above-ground textile containers provided by Het Goed will be replaced by new containers from Sympany. The new containers will be installed as soon as the old ones have been removed.

In September, the underground textile containers will also be replaced by above-ground containers from Sympany. This means that the same easily recognizable textile containers will soon be in use throughout the municipality.

What will change for residents?

Little will change for residents. You can continue to drop off clothing, shoes, and other clean, dry textiles. Always place the textiles in a tightly sealed bag before putting them in the container.

During the replacement, there may be a temporary absence of a textile container at a given location. The new container will be placed as soon as possible after the old one has been removed.

Where will the textile collection bins be located?

The existing containers will be replaced or relocated to the following locations:

  • De Spijkert 2, Eeneind
  • Heuvelrun 1, Gerwen
  • Koppeldreef 1, Nederwetten
  • De Smidse, near the Jumbo, Nuenen
  • 21 Lissevoort, Nuenen
  • 247 Margot Begemannstraat, near the Albert Heijn, Nuenen
  • 40 Nuenderbeekselaan, Nuenen
  • 191 Opwettenseweg, Nuenen
  • Pastoorsmast, Oude Landen Parking Lot, Nuenen
  • Urn Field 11, Nuenen
  • Walburg, Nuenen
  • Wettenseind, parking lot at the sports complex, Nuenen

Which locations will be closed?

The textile collection bins at the following locations will be removed:

  • Hoog Nouwland: There are already three other textile collection bins in this part of Nuenen.
  • Voirt: This location will be discontinued. Instead, a new collection site will be established in Walburg.

What happens to the collected textiles?

Sympany carefully sorts the collected textiles in Eindhoven. Clothing and other textiles that are still usable are given a second life. Textiles that can no longer be worn are processed into new materials and products, such as insulation and cleaning rags.
