Shelter stray animals
What is it?
From January 1, 2022, the ROZE Foundation (Regionale Opvang Zwerfdieren Eindhoven) will provide shelter for stray animals for 14 regional municipalities, including the municipality of Nuenen. The foundation also has its own animal ambulances and operates from a new sustainable shelter at Kanaaldijk Noord in Eindhoven.
What to do.
Animal in distress?
Is there an animal in distress? As of 1-1-2022, call the emergency assistance number (040) 747 01 00. This number is always available, but call outside of business hours only if absolutely necessary. Stay with the animal until the animal ambulance has arrived. Is it a wild animal, such as a bird or hedgehog? Do not hold the animal, but put it in a box, for example. This causes less stress to wild animals.
Pet lost?
When an animal arrives at St. ROZE, the staff first check to see if they can find the owner (for example, by reading a chip). If they cannot, they place the animal on their own website www.rozeindhoven.nl, on www.amivedi.nl and on social media to reunite the animal with its owner as quickly as possible. Animals for adoption are listed on our website/social media channels and the site www.dierenasiels.com. An appointment for introductions can be made prior to adoption.
