Selling old stuff

In the Monastery there are still items present that are not going to be used in the new facility, but which have a certain value. We do not want to just throw these items away, but give residents the opportunity to take them over for a symbolic amount. These include theater seats and hall signs. Some residents showed their interest and picked up their acquisition on December 19.

Planning renovation

(Light) demolition work has already started in November, such as the removal of sanitary facilities and installations. In early 2025, the actual renovation will start and we will begin structural demolition, such as removing some interior walls. If everything goes according to schedule, the renovation will be completed February 2026. Then the users can move back from the Monastery Temporalis to the new Monastery.

Multifunctional cultural center

The Klooster needs to be thoroughly renovated. The need for extensive maintenance and preservation is then linked to the ambition to make Het Klooster a vibrant center for Nuenen residents. Het Klooster must also serve as a meeting place for the city council, theater, library and a place where associations can go for their activities. In other words: a social and cultural vibrant heart that invites to stay.
