New construction The Oak Court: 31 new homes step closer
A great milestone for Nederwetten: on Wednesday, December 4, Alderman Patrick Kok handed over the environmental permit for the De Eikenhof project to developer Hoekstraat BV. This brings the construction of this new building project another step closer. The festive moment took place on the construction site itself, between Eikelkampen, Hoekstraat and Willem Sengershof.
The De Eikenhof project is a collaboration between housing corporation Wooninc., developer Hoekstraat BV, construction company BanBouw and the municipality of Nuenen.
De Eikenhof: more affordable housing in Lowerwetten village center
This new construction project includes 31 new homes, 10 of which are social housing. On the small village core that is Nederwetten, this means a substantial addition of housing. And with the 10 social rental homes, it also contributes to the availability of affordable housing.
A home for everyone
"With The Oak Court, we are making room for affordable and sustainable housing. Different target groups can find a home here," said Alderman Patrick Kok. "It is important that Nederwetten is not forgotten in the social housing task. That is why I am very pleased that Wooninc. is traveling to Nederwetten for the first time to house starters and seniors. A clear signal that this target group from Nederwetten will not be left out in the cold! Both Hoekstraat BV., Wooninc. and the municipality have gone to great lengths to make this possible and I am proud of that."
Angela Pijnenburg, director of Wooninc. fully agrees: "Wooninc. already has quite a few homes in the municipality of Nuenen. We are committed to ensuring that there are even more. With these 10 social rental homes, we are contributing to ensuring that social tenants can also find a nice, sustainable and affordable home in Nederwetten."
The social housing units are sustainable single-family homes with two bedrooms. The homes have a garden with storage. Due, among other things, to the sustainable installations, such as a heat pump and a heat recovery system, the homes have an A+++ label.
Sustainable and committed
The first work is expected to start early next year, after which the homes will be completed in mid-2026. The plans pay a lot of attention to sustainability. Think of heat pumps, HR++ glazing and gas-free installations. There is also much attention to a pleasant living environment. The homes will be modern and blend in well with the green surroundings of Nederwetten.
