Residential care vision: together for housing, Health and welfare

The municipal council adopted the Residential Care Vision in October 2024. This vision is the starting point for addressing the residential care challenges in the municipality of Nuenen. We outline what is additionally needed to properly house people with special housing needs or care requirements (such as the elderly). We also indicate what ambitions and goals we want to set for this in the areas of housing, society and Health.

Joint result

The Woonzorgvisie was created with input from various organizations. In 2022 and early 2023 we gathered from various Nuenen (elderly) organizations, representatives of special target groups and the Advisory Board Social Domain what they consider important for the Woonzorgvisie. This has resulted in the vision as it now stands.

Implementation program provides concrete measures

To move from vision to implementation, an implementation program was created. For each task in the residential care vision, the implementation program describes various measures to carry out that task.

As a municipality, we would like to start working on the tasks in the implementation program together with the stakeholders involved. With the signing on November 13, 2025, we mark the starting point for this.

"With broad representation, we developed the Residential Care Vision. As a senior citizens' association, we are pleased with the beautiful result. We now have the challenge of making something of it!' - said Joop Scholing, chairman PVGE Nuenen.

The municipality is also pleased with the result that is now on the table. The two aldermen involved, Niels Wouters and Patrick Kok, emphasized the pleasant cooperation: 'Living, welfare and Health come together in this vision. People are central and that is important in this day and age. Thanks to a constructive participation process, we now have a joint result. Thanks to everyone who has contributed!'
