Municipality of Nuenen and Wooninc. sign cooperation agreement for social housing in Kloostertuin

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Alderman Kok (municipality of Nuenen) and Ronald Frins (Wooninc.) signed a cooperation agreement for the Kloostertuin. A maximum of 115 homes will be built here, 38 of which will be social housing. Wooninc. will purchase these social housing units from the developer, who is yet to be selected. The agreement underscores the importance that the municipality and Wooninc. attach to housing development. After all, there is considerable pressure on the social housing market in Nuenen, and the addition of social housing units is therefore urgently needed.

First phase permit granted

Furthermore, the Municipal Executive has officially granted the permit for the first phase of the BOPA (Buitenplanse Omgevingsplanactiviteit, or Extra-Plan Environmental Planning Activity) – the spatial part. This permit enables the plan to be further developed. This does not mean that construction will start immediately, as the second phase of the BOPA – the technical part – is also required before actual construction can begin. This will be applied for in due course by the selected developer.
