Inspection of the Industrial Park on September 17, 2026
On Thursday, September 17, 2026, the Dommelstroom Intervention Team (DIT) conducted an administrative inspection in Nuenen. This inspection focused on businesses located within the municipality. The visited locations were inspected for, among other things, fire safety, environmental aspects, and compliance with the Environmental Plan. The inspection involved inspectors from the municipality of Nuenen, the South-East Brabant Environmental Service (ODZOB), the Southeast Brabant Safety Region (VRBZO), and the police.

By conducting these inspections in collaboration with other participating partners, we ensure comprehensive oversight. This allows us to address any violations immediately during a single visit. Those involved are also informed right away about what they can do to rectify the violation.
Results of the audit
- A total of 10 companies were inspected.
- Facilities for overnight stays were found at two locations within the building. In both cases, overnight stays on the business premises are not permitted. The businesses located there will be notified in writing and asked to remove the facilities installed for overnight stays.
- One location houses a business that, until recently, operated as a package delivery service. We were unable to establish personal contact with the owner of the business. The owner of the building then arrived on site and granted access to the premises. The property owner was unaware that the package delivery service had left. Various items of goods and a few packages were left behind in the building. Unopened mail from various organizations was on the doormat. The property owner indicated that he would return the mail to the sender if the tenant does not get in touch. The municipality is attempting to contact the owner of the package delivery service.
- At one location, cars were found being repaired on site. The company has been issued a written notice regarding its failure to obtain the required operating permit to carry out these activities. The company will be required to temporarily suspend operations at this location.
- The other 6 companies that were inspected were all in good standing.
The inspection went smoothly. All parties involved who were present cooperated fully.
About the Dommelstroom Intervention Team (DIT).
The Dommelstroom Intervention Team is a collaboration between several partners, of which the municipality of Nuenen is also part. The DIT plays an important role in the integral approach to enforcement bottlenecks and undermining crime. Under the direction of the DIT, regular inspections of premises and locations take place. The team checks for fire safety, accounting, illegal occupancy, permits, registration in the Basic Registration of Persons, human trafficking, prostitution, drugs, social security fraud and other violations.
