The municipality of Nuenen encourages and facilitates Collective Private Ownership (CPO). CPO involves a group of private individuals, organized in an association, developing and realizing a housing project for themselves under their own management with self-selected non-profit partners. 

We distinguish two possibilities for the realization of a CPO:

1. A group of individuals, who wish to realize housing without the intervention of a professional party; 

2. A CPO group recruited by an architectural firm, developer or construction supervisor that reaches consensus on housing typology, architecture, etc. Within this structure, it still applies that the CPO group makes commitments to the municipality and contractors, not the architect, developer or construction supervisor. 

Who is CPO for?

CPO is for everyone. For starters, move up, seniors or people with a specific desire. Do you enjoy having a say in the design of your own home and are you willing to put time and energy into developing your own home? Then CPO may be right for you. 

Participation in CPO

It is possible to start a new CPO initiative yourself. What rules and Requirements are involved, you can inquire with team Grondzaken of the municipality. You can also register with existing CPO initiatives. They can inform you about their projects.
