Bronze medal of honor for Nico van Vroonhoven
On Wednesday evening May 11, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Nico van Vroonhoven (79), secretary of Volkstuinvereniging Nuenen, received on his farewell the bronze medal of honor of the municipality of Nuenen. At the beginning of the general members' meeting at the location of De Wentelwiek, Jacobushoek 5 in Nuenen, Alderman Ralf Stultiëns presented the municipal decoration.
Mr. Nico van Vroonhoven served as secretary for 40 years from the founding of the allotment association in 1982. He had a wide range of duties in which he was responsible for membership administration, key management, garden allocation, machine management, taking care of seed orders, editing the association magazine, and supporting and familiarising the other board members.
The Nuenen Allotment Garden Association has 200 allotment gardens in two locations: 123 gardens on the Papenvoort and 77 gardens on the Wettenseind. Anyone living in the municipality of Nuenen can become a member. If a garden is not immediately available, you will be put on the waiting list. The minimum annual time commitment is 200 hours of work per garden.
With this bronze municipal award, the municipal administration, in the name of all residents in general and the members of the Volkstuinvereniging in particular, would like to express its appreciation and gratitude. Congratulations!
