Jo van Dijkhof meeting room remains neighborhood meeting center
The meeting room in the Jo van Dijkhof, also known as the Gasterij, will retain its function as a meeting place for the seniors in Nuenen-South. Alderman Sandor Löwik and director-director Sylvester Putters of housing foundation Helpt Elkander signed an agreement for this on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Helpt Elkander will make the meeting room in the Jo van Dijkhof available; the municipality will guarantee the operating costs.
Important for Nuenen-South
The municipality considers it very important to maintain a multifunctional accommodation in Nuenen-Zuid, in addition to the existing space in the Hongerman. For the large group of seniors in Nuenen-Zuid, this forms a nice place where people can meet, have a chat or do activities.
Clubs and associations
Currently, several clubs and associations are still using the Steunpunt at Goudvinkhof 12A. The intention is for these associations to move to the former Gasterij. The Goudvinkhof will temporarily house the painting collective Atelier Nuenen. These artists are now using rooms in the former school building on the Vrouwkensakker, which are being made suitable for the reception of new Ukrainian Refugees.
New name
Residents of the Jo van Dijkhof and users of the meeting space have formed a working group that will be actively involved in the future management of the meeting space. The working group and residents have also already come up with a new name: Buurthuis Gastvrij.
