White goods scheme against energy poverty successful
Last year, residents of Nuenen with a lower disposable income were able to participate in the white goods scheme. Of the 741 Nuenen residents who were registered, 485 made use of the scheme. They received a gift voucher worth €500 from the Regional Energy Desk to replace an old white goods appliance, such as a refrigerator or washing machine, with a new and more energy efficient appliance. A new appliance will lower your energy bill and give you the peace of mind that you will be able to use your appliances for years to come without worry.
The action was very much appreciated by the participants and generated nice reactions and thank yous: "With the gift card and extra discount I bought an energy-efficient refrigerator-freezer" and "My 25-year-old washing machine needed replacing and with this contribution I was able to buy a new one."
We look back on a successful campaign and continue to actively help residents with a small budget to save energy. We like to put energy into this because after all, everything you don't consume you don't have to pay for. Volunteers are happy to help you save energy.
