In 2025, the 21 municipalities from the Brainport Eindhoven region together with the province of North Brabant will be hosting the VNG Annual Conference 2025. The VNG (Association of Netherlands Municipalities) announced this this afternoon during the 2024 Annual Conference in the Green Heart. Never before had such a large group of municipalities organized the congress in cooperation with the province. The congress days will take place next year on June 17 and 18. 

Chairman of the VNG Annual Conference Organization Steering Committee, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, is proud that the 21 municipalities from the Brainport Eindhoven region and the province of North Brabant will be jointly organizing the conference: "We are very much looking forward to welcoming the administrative Netherlands to Brainport Eindhoven. The VNG Annual Conference offers our region the opportunity to tell the story of Brainport. A region where it is nice to live, work and play and where we work closely together on innovative solutions to global social issues. This is good news for the economy. But it also poses major challenges for us as a region. We face these with our residents, business, education and social partners. We invite all VNG conference attendees to think along with us. Because together we are making the future here." It is expected that organizing the VNG Annual Conference will bring many benefits to various parties, such as hospitality, tourism, middle class and hoteliers throughout the region. 

VNG Annual Conference

The VNG Annual Conference is a two-day conference attended annually by over 3,000 municipal administrators, municipal officials and representatives of provinces and rijksoverheid. During the event, visitors are introduced to the region, discussion sessions and knowledge sessions take place, and there is room for networking. The location for the joint part of the congress and information fair is the Klokgebouw at Strijp-S in Eindhoven. About 60 sub-sessions on the first day, will take place across the region. The goal is to organize at least one partial session in each municipality.

To organize the congress in Brainport Eindhoven, a steering committee and project group have been established. The steering committee consists of the mayors of the municipalities of Deurne, Eindhoven, Helmond, Reusel-de Mierden, Valkenswaard and Veldhoven. In the coming period, the program will be further prepared in cooperation with the VNG, the 21 municipalities and the province of North Brabant.
