Lowering hedges

Some hedges have grown too tall in recent years. This is not good for the streetscape and can be unsafe at intersections, bike paths and sidewalks. Therefore, we cut the hedges back to their original, safe height by machine.

What do you see?

• Immediately after pruning, hedges can look bare or messy.
• Sometimes you will see mostly logs. This is normal with this type of maintenance.

When will it turn green again?

• In the spring, the hedges sprout again.
• Then we keep them at the right height so that they remain dense and cared for.

Why are we doing this?

• For better visibility and road safety.
• For a neat streetscape.
• For strong, healthy hedges over the long term.
