Traffic disruption at the Helmondweg intersection on April 9, 2026

In a single-vehicle accident on Smits van Oyenlaan during the night of March 31, 2026, the traffic signal control system near the A270 (Helmondweg) was damaged. As a result, the traffic lights are out of service. 

The complete replacement of the system may take up to approximately three months. Therefore, a temporary system will be installed on Thursday, April 9, to restore traffic signal operation. Traffic controllers will be on site during this work. Some traffic disruptions may occur.
