Lindenhof home closed after drug discovery

On August 14, 2023, the mayor closed a residence on Lindenhof for a period of 3 months due to the discovery of soft drugs. The municipality does this pursuant to Article 13b of the Opium Act and the municipal Damocles policy. During an inspection at the residence, the police found a trade quantity of soft drugs.

As a municipality, we consider a safe residential and living environment important. This is why the mayor takes tough action against drug crime.

Not just risk to those directly affected

We cannot stress the risks of hemp cultivation or drug trafficking often enough. Even for individuals who are not directly involved in the drug trade, but who live or have a business in the premises where the police detect drugs. You run the risk of having your home or business premises closed down, with all the consequences that entails.

Another possible measure: dissolution of the lease agreement

Is the property where the drugs or hemp is found rented by the owner to an individual or business? Then the owner can decide to dissolve the lease. This is possible even if the tenant himself does not have anything directly to do with the hemp or drugs. This means that the tenant may never return to the property.
