Together against loneliness in Nuenen

On May 12, 2025, the Municipality of Nuenen and the GGD organized an inspiring kick-off meeting of the national program One Against Loneliness.
The meeting was opened by Alderman Niels Wouters, who emphasized the importance of local cooperation. This was followed by a multi-faceted program with contributions from Prof. Dr. Anja Machielse (Professor of Humanism and Social Resilience), Helder Theater, GGD Brabant-Zuidoost and Stichting Join Us. Together they took the audience into the experiences of people who feel lonely. Awareness and gaining and sharing knowledge were central.

During an interactive work session, participants worked with the six building blocks of the program against loneliness: knowing, finding, supporting, providing quality, informing and collaborating. Valuable discussions and first ideas for follow-up actions in Nuenen emerged.

The involvement of all present was heartwarming and gives confidence that together we can make a real difference. 💪
