Intensification study of industrial estates

The intensification study (Ginder, 2025) shows that the industrial estates in Nuenen have limited theoretical intensification potential (approx. 6.4 ha), while the expansion space amounts to zero hectares. This makes it essential to maintain economic activity, prevent loss of space, and use space carefully.

The council has decided to establish an administrative policy whereby changes in function that lead to a loss of industrial space will in principle be refused, unless they demonstrably contribute to intensification, quality improvement, or transformation.
The council has also decided to have the Berkenbos Environmental Program drawn up, in which the research results will be translated into feasible policy, including attention to intensification, safety, spatial quality, sustainability, and instruments such as Floorindex.
The council will be informed of this by means of a council information letter.

Principle request for spatial development Eikelkampen 1, Nederwetten

There used to be a mink farm at Eikelkampen 1. As part of the coronavirus measures, the animals were Rijksoverheid by order of the Rijksoverheid and the company had to cease its activities earlier than expected. The entrepreneur wants to generate income again by renting out storage space to private individuals and companies.

The council has decided in principle to cooperate in initiating a procedure for redevelopment and to conclude a letter of intent with the initiator.

Interim report fall 2025 Nuenen

On December 4, 2025, the interim report for the fall of 2025 will be on the agenda of the deliberative council meeting. In view of the stricter requirements for budgetary legitimacy that have been in place since last year, we have screened the budgets again as late as possible in the process. This has prompted us to submit an addendum to the council with an additional budget amendment.

The council has decided to send the addendum with the budget amendment addendum accompanying the interim report documents to the council.

Short-term approach to steel slag

Steel slag has been incorporated into various semi-paved surfaces (footpaths and cycle paths) in Nuenen. However, steel slag poses a health risk in direct contact. The municipal executive wants measures to be taken as quickly as possible for the Slotpark in Nuenen to prevent the spread of loose stones.

The council has agreed to issue a contract as soon as possible to remove loose stones from the semi-paved paths, starting in Slotpark in Nuenen West.
The council has decided to include a target budget of €57,000 for the removal of loose stones in the addendum to the Interim Report Autumn 2025.
The council will be informed of this in a council information letter.
