The Green Zone Solar Panels (DGZ-Z)
The municipality of Nuenen is participating in the Green Zone Solar Panels initiative: a regional partnership among 11 municipalities within the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region. The partnership aims to support residents with limited financial resources, private landlords, and homeowners’ associations in purchasing solar panels. During the initial phase of the partnership, the financial benefit for the target group proved to be limited due to the abolition of the net metering scheme, increasing grid congestion, and limited technical solutions. In consultation with the participating parties, the Municipal Executive has decided not to continue with the partnership but to focus on locally tailored solutions.
The council has decided to approve the termination of the current partnership with De Groene Zone Zonnepanelen.
The executive board has decided to inform the council via a council information letter.
