War Graves Foundation thanks consul of Nuenen municipality with gold honorary pin
In gratitude for his work as consul of the War Graves Foundation in the municipality of Nuenen, Gerwen and Nederwetten, Hugo Polderman received a golden honorary pin from Peter Woolderink, Inspector of the War Graves Foundation, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Alderman Sandor Löwik was present.

Mr. Polderman has been a consul for the War Graves Foundation for 25 years. In this role he was, among other things, the local representative of the War Graves Foundation in the municipality of Nuenen. He was responsible for the internal and external contacts for the maintenance of the war graves. There are 2 Dutch war victims buried in the municipality of Nuenen. Mr. Polderman was succeeded as consul by Jeroen Stienen.
There is a war grave in almost every municipality in the Netherlands. The consuls play an important role in the management and maintenance of these graves. Throughout the Netherlands about 320 consuls support the War Graves Foundation in carrying out its activities. The consuls, who are usually employed by a municipality, are officially appointed by the mayor.
