Nuenen goes for 100% LED lighting

In Nuenen, about 60% of the street lighting now has LED. After Gerwen, Nederwetten, part of Eeneind and parts of Nuenen-North, -East and -South, the rest of the streets will also get LED lighting.

When and by whom?

Starting in early October, contractor Konings of Ravenstein will start the conversion work.

What is happening?

• Old fixtures will go away; new LED fixtures will replace them.
• In a few places, we place additional light poles.
• The new fixtures have a communication module. This allows us to adjust the lights remotely, see faults and track energy consumption.

We do not close the roads. There may be brief, minor inconvenience from work vehicles on the roadway or shoulder.

Brightness

The new bulbs are brighter than the old ones. It may take some getting used to.

Will you help?

Pay attention to plantings from your yard that grow over light poles. Remove this greenery. Then the contractor can easily access the mast hatch and fixture.
