Informal Care Recognition 2026

The municipality of Nuenen appreciates the dedication of informal caregivers and would like to thank you for your efforts with a gift certificate worth €50. You can receive this if you are registered with the Steunpunt Mantelzorg in Nuenen—even if you are a young caregiver aged 8 or older .

When are you considered an informal caregiver?

What exactly is informal care? Informal care is any help you provide to someone in your immediate social circle. Informal caregivers are people who provide long-term, unpaid care to a chronically ill, disabled, or vulnerable person in their community. This could be a partner, parent, child, brother, or sister, but also another family member, friend, neighbor, or acquaintance.

Informal caregivers between the ages of 8 and 24 are referred to as young informal caregivers.

When can you apply for the informal care allowance?

If you have provided (informal) careHealth for more than three months this year, for at least eight hours per week. Informal caregivers can register starting at age 8.

What other Requirements do you need to meet?

• The person you are caring for (the care recipient) lives in the municipality of Nuenen.
• As a family caregiver, you may also live in a different municipality.
• A maximum of 1 rating may be requested per care recipient.
• You are registered with the Steunpunt Mantelzorg in Nuenen through November 9, 2026. You can do this through the LEVgroep Nuenen website or by calling the CMD at 040-2831675.
