Ten ribbons in the municipality of Nuenen
This year a number of people in the Netherlands will again receive a Royal Decoration. The municipality of Nuenen can also rejoice in the fact that it has pleased His Majesty the King to make ten residents eligible.

Harry Verhoeven is deserving in the fields of soccer, carnival and social cohesion in Nederwetten, among others. For many years he has been committed to soccer club RKVV Nederwetten and carnival association De Wetters. But he also volunteers with Stichting Wette's Dorpsfestijn and is committed to neighborhood association WENT within the Esrand neighborhood. He is a jack-of-all-trades and performs various hand-and-span services. He is always selflessly available to others. Until his retirement in 2019, he was a driver at Rendac Son.

Age: 76 years old
Annemarie Tenback (wife of decorator Ton Tenback) is deserving in the field of livability, village cohesion and welfare within the Gerwen community. She is a volunteer with Werkgroep Leefbaarheid Gerwen and she dedicates herself to the monthly meal Ittemee, the Living Room Project, the Gnome Day and the Andre of the Measure Day. She has also accompanied a refugee family since 2014. She is a volunteer at the village hall D'n Heuvel where she takes care of the weekly walk-in and organizes the Christmas celebration for seniors association Senergiek. She has also been a volunteer at the now defunct Palliative Terminal Health Foundation in Nuenen for 10 years.

Age: 80 years old
Ton Tenback (husband of decoranda Annemarie Tenback) is meritorious in the fields of livability, village cohesion and welfare, among others. He is a volunteer with Werkgroep Leefbaarheid Gerwen and has been a member of the Gerwen Village Council for 10 years. He was also active as coordinator of the Nuenen Fire(safe) project for over 8 years. He has worked as an architect and from his retirement in 2010 he has been working as an all-rounder completely selflessly for his fellow man. He was director-owner of Architectuur Tenback until his retirement in 2010.

Age: 67 years old
Peer Kamsma is meritorious in the fields of cycling and soccer, among others. For many years he has been committed to the Stichting Grote Ronde van Gerwen. Partly due to his efforts, it is possible to organize one of the few races where both the top amateurs of the Netherlands and the youth ride on the same race day. He is also an active volunteer at and, since 2018, chairman of soccer club RKGSV. In his hometown of Gerwen, he is also chairman of VVE Hof aan het Laar. Peer is now retired but active as a bus driver and employed by Hermes.

Ellen Balemans has accumulated merits in the fields of poverty alleviation, culture and gymnastics. She has been committed to the Stichting Voedselbank Nuenen for many years. As coordinator she takes care of the intake of new clients. She is responsible for food safety and maintains external contacts with food banks in the region. She has also been a volunteer at the Van Gogh Village Museum Nuenen as a hostess and desk clerk for quite some time. In the past, she has also served as secretary of Koninklijke Harmonie Het Geldrops Muziekcorps and Turnvereniging St. Franciscus. Until 2015, she worked at Philips as executive secretary.

Age: 67 years old
Peter van Hout has accumulated merits in the fields of soccer, carnival and handball. He has been a board member of soccer club RKSV Nuenen for many years. He had a key role in the development of women's soccer and he was the initiator of the organization of the 100th anniversary. From 1998 to 2023 Peter was the secretary of the Lampegatse Optocht committee in Eindhoven and last year he co-organized the first Pride in Eindhoven. From 1982 to 2003 he was a board member of the Eindhoven Handball Association.
Until his retirement in 2022, he was employed by the UWV.
Mr. P.C. (Paul) Sluijter Full: Paul Christiaan Sluijter
Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau
Age: 76 years old
Paul Sluijter's achievements include museums, public transportation and social cohesion. As treasurer since 2001, he was one of the founders of the current Van Gogh Village Museum. To this day he is active here as a desk and sales assistant. He is an active board member and driver for the Neighborhood Bus 260 and was the initiator of the Plusbus. For many years he has been a volunteer at the Hobby Center the Village Workshop including the cash committee and the organization of NL Doet. Between 2012 and 2022 he was coordinator of the Nuenen Fire Safe smoke alarm project. From 1997 to 2016 he was co-founder, treasurer and committee member of the Nuenen Male Voice Choir. Until his retirement in 2012, he was a financial advisor with Deloitte.

Age: 69 years old
Hennie Coolen (wife of decorator Hans Coolen) has built up merits in the field of welfare and carnival, among others. She volunteered at Het Slaatjesbal, a carnival party for people with a mental disability. For more than 10 years she was a volunteer at the Association Soos Struckenstraat in Eindhoven. She organized and supervised the creative activities. She also took on care duties. In the early days of Dorpsboerderij Weverkeshof she was active at this petting zoo. She devoted herself to fundraising, publicity and the news bulletin. For the past 10 years, she has been volunteering at the daycare center of Stichting De Kunsterij in Eindhoven. Until 2018, she worked as an activity supervisor at De Landrijt in Eindhoven.

Age: 71 years old
Hans Coolen (husband of decoranda Hennie Coolen) has accumulated merits in the fields of welfare, carnival and education, among others. For almost 20 years he devoted himself as a volunteer of Het Slaatjesbal, a carnival party for people with mental disabilities. For more than 10 years he was secretary and treasurer of the Association Soos Struckenstraat in Eindhoven. In the early days of Dorpsboerderij Weverkeshof he was active in building and constructing the children's farm. He also volunteered at the Free School Brabant as a class parent, set builder and camp counselor. He now volunteers at the day care center of Stichting De Kunsterij in Eindhoven, at Fietsmaatjes Nuenen and at the Savant residential care facility at Lenthof in Nuenen. Until his retirement in 2020, he worked as head salesman at G.P.B. Bouw.

Age: 70 years old
Peter van Merode is meritorious in the fields of museums and field hockey. He has been committed to Hockeyclub Nuenen since 1990, including as chairman during various periods. He is also a regular member of various committees. Since 2008 he has been chairman of the Nuenen Hockey Accommodation Foundation. As of 2021, he volunteers at the Van Gogh Village Museum. He serves as a member of the board and head of the daily management. He advises the board and is responsible for planning, technology, staff and organization. He co-organized the reopening by Queen Máxima. He is also a volunteer with Van Gogh Sites Foundation. He dedicates himself to the website, image bank and makes analyses of visitor behavior. Until his retirement in 2023, he worked successively at Philips, Merger Face, Marc Global and Red Prairie. During his 45-year career, he was active in "international" business in the software/ICT business.
