Nine ribbons in the municipality of Nuenen
This year a number of people in the Netherlands will again receive a Royal Decoration. The municipality of Nuenen can also rejoice in the fact that it has pleased His Majesty King Willem-Alexander to make nine residents eligible.

Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau
Age: 71 years
Riet Meijer is the proud owner of the Hooydonk watermill in Nederwetten since 1997, which was then beautifully restored. Riet is a volunteer with the North Brabant Mill Foundation. For many years she has represented the interests of monumental water mills in the province. With enormous enthusiasm she is an advocate for the scenic value of the watermill. On her initiative the pilot project "New opportunities for Watermills" was initiated in the Groene Woud. Learning how water mills were used for water management in the past can help address desiccation and peak runoff. Riet is someone who always goes the extra mile, looking beyond standard solutions. For this commitment, she was appointed Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
Mr. J.P.T. (Jan) van der Kruis. Full name: Johannes, Petrus, Theodorus van der Kruis.
Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau
Age: 74 years
Jan van der Kruis has been committed for many years, both professionally and voluntarily, to improving the position and well-being of people with intellectual disabilities in the Netherlands but also abroad. For this group of people and their families, Jan has played a pioneering role within the field of Health for people with disabilities. Jan was the initiator of the project ' Regie voor eigen leven'. This initiative was so appreciated that it was adopted throughout the Netherlands and later in Europe. With his new scientific and integral vision in the field of Health, people with disabilities now live in the middle of neighborhoods and villages and no longer afterwards in a closed institution. Also worth mentioning is his commitment to the Bishop Bekkers Foundation. He has been appointed Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau with the Swords
Age: 56 years
Sergeant Eric Putman has been appointed Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau with Swords for his achievements in the fields of sustainability and youth welfare. Eric has been with Air Liquide B.V. since 1998, where he won several international innovation competitions. Eric now has several globally important patents to his name. Eric was also involved in the construction of the first public hydrogen filling station in the Netherlands. From 2003 Eric is indispensable as a volunteer at Playground De Kievit. First as chairman and later as jack-of-all-trades. From 2011 to 2020, Eric gave training twice a week to the women's teams at soccer club RKSV Nuenen. Since 2018, Eric has been a reservist in the Royal Air Force. Here he deploys to various missions and for the Social Service Time (MDT) project, among other things.
Mr. J.M.A. (Jan) Jacobs. Full name: Johannes Mattheus Adrianus Jacobs

Age: 71 years
Jan Jacobs has been appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his voluntary work over the past 30 years with Hockeyclub Nuenen, neighborhood association De Panakkers and the DAF Museum in Eindhoven. Jan has been involved with the Nuenen Hockey Club since 1992. There he was coach and chairman of the technical committee. Nowadays he is still involved in refereeing and professionalizing the didactic material for trainers and coaches. At neighborhood association de Panakkers he organizes various activities. After 40 years of faithful service with DAF Trucks, he has been active for the DAF Museum in Eindhoven.

Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau

Shooters Guild the Holy Cross Guild Gerwen could not exist without volunteers like Roland van den Berk. Roland has been volunteering with the Guild of Marksmen in various positions for decades. In 2019, he became captain and chairman of the Marksmen Committee and directs the other volunteers. In 1999 he also became a volunteer with Youth Association Jong Nederland Gerwen. First as secretary and later as group leader. Now he still organizes various activities and joins the summer camp every year. Since 2010 he has been an informal caregiver for a disabled family member. For his efforts he was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.

Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau
Age: 61 years
Toon van Zeeland was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his volunteer work with Carnival Association De Narre-Kappen, Schutterij Heilig Kruisgilde Gerwen and Afvalraapclub Andre van der Maat. With the Narre-Kappen, Toon has been active since 2001. He is responsible for the management and maintenance of all materials. He has also been a board member here for 7 years. At Schutterij Heilig Kruisgilde Gerwen he is groundsman and Toon takes care of the green maintenance. He is also a member of the crossbow committee of the Kring Kempenland and is a crossbow archer in the highest class. Toon organizes various activities in Gerwen such as the trunk sale and the annual clean-up day, called Andre van de Maatdag.

Age: 49 years
Roland Grimberg was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau for his achievements in the field of corporate social responsibility. As a supermarket owner, Roland sponsors many associations, foundations and other stakeholders without any compensation. During the corona crisis, Roland made his store space available to local entrepreneurs to sell products in the store. There is a neighborhood table in the store as a meeting place for fellow villagers. With regularity, activities, such as soup cooking, are organized at this neighborhood table for elderly people. He offers employment to people with a distance to the labor market and regularly organizes a "prokkel afternoon" where young people with mental disabilities can meet.

Age: 86 years
Fresh Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau Toos Vogels has been a volunteer since 1970 as a supervisor of creative skills for the elderly in training center "the farm" and hobby center "the village workshop". Later she also became a volunteer at complex De Regt of De Zorgboog. For De Zonnebloem she volunteered 24/7 for boat and bus vacations. For over 20 years, Toos volunteered with nursing background at vacation home Het Wolders Ven in Waalre. From 2017 Toos lives in the Pieter Dekkersstraat and is a member of the residents' committee. Toos is initiator/activities supervisor at the Living Room project there. Toos is a nurse and volunteer at heart. She nurses, cares, arranges and organizes.

Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau
Age: 77 years
Hans Bloos, accordionist at heart. For more than 20 years Hans was part of Duo Kierewit and performed with his accordion in various care centers. Playing the accordion was a powerful tool for reminiscing. With great musical passion, Hans supports the choir, rehearsals and performances of the Smartlappenkoor De Ideale Schoonouders. For 20 years he has been indispensable at the Song Table in the Schafrath café. He also provides performances for residents with dementia at the elderly estate Grootenhout in Mariahout. In recent years he has accompanied various musical activities at elementary school De Talisman and at the Lambertus Concerts Foundation in Helmond. For his musical dedication he was appointed Member in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
