Redevelopment of the area between Park Street-Voirt and Boordseweg.

After an intensive process in cooperation with the municipality, Whoon Projectontwikkeling and ALDI Vastgoed have reached outline agreement on the plans for the redevelopment of the area between Parkstraat-Voirt and Boordseweg in Nuenen. The Municipal Executive has decided to cooperate in drawing up a request in principle and entering into a letter of intent.

It involves a large part of the center area, which includes the current Albert Heijn, Expert, ALDI, Domino's and two parking lots. The plans focus on a mix of living, shopping and parking:

  • Supermarket and retail: approximately 4,400 sq. ft. of retail, including two supermarkets.
  • Housing: approximately 89 apartments, ranging from social rental and affordable owner-occupied units to more expensive owner-occupied apartments.
  • Parking: approximately 200 parking spaces, partly in an underground garage.

  1. Completed: Breakthrough in development center -

  2. Still to do: First stakeholder participation meeting

    The promoters Whoon and ALDI Realty are going to organize a participation meeting. The date and location are not yet known.

  3. Still to do: Submit (amended) request in principle

    Promoters Whoon and ALDI Realty are submitting a request in principle to the municipality.

  4. Still to do: Sign Memorandum of Understanding

    The municipality of Nuenen and the initiators sign a letter of intent. In it, both parties lay down their intentions for the development.

  5. Still to do: Decision in principle by the college

    The Municipal Executive will make a decision in principle based on the request in principle that has been submitted. This states that the municipality wants to cooperate with the development.

  6. Still to do: Start planning procedure

    Once the decision in principle is approved, the planning procedure will begin.
