Municipality of Nuenen receives subsidy for accelerated housing construction in Nuenen West and Gerwen

The municipality of Nuenen is receiving a substantial financial contribution from the Eindhoven Metropolitan Region Housing Acceleration Scheme of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (the so-called Beethoven Scheme). This subsidy supports the accelerated realization of new and affordable housing in the region. For Nuenen, this concerns a grant for the Nuenen West – construction site B and Kerkakkers in Gerwen projects. Almost €2 million in subsidies has been allocated to these projects. The municipality will provide an additional 25 percent co-financing on top of this amount.

Subsidies offer a solution to social bottlenecks

This contribution will enable us to take important steps toward increasing the available housing stock for multiple target groups. Alderman Kok is delighted: "This is a great boost. Thanks to this subsidy, we can realize more affordable housing in both plans and create seven sites for the Sinti. In the Kerkakkers project, this gives us the opportunity to build strong, inclusive communities. This contribution will therefore primarily resolve social bottlenecks in both projects." 

Nuenen West – construction site B

The Nuenen West – construction site B project provides for the addition of 62 homes, with a strong focus on affordability and diversity in the housing supply. The intended program for this project consists of 24 social rental homes, 20 care homes, 12 affordable owner-occupied homes, and 7 pitches for the Sinti. 

Church fields in Gerwen

The Kerkakkers project in Gerwen involves the addition of 98 homes. Of these 98 homes, 27 fall into the social housing segment. In addition, 32 affordable owner-occupied homes will also be added. The plan offers opportunities for both first-time buyers and older people.
