Leaf Collectors
Due to the ongoing drought, the leaves are falling earlier this year. Therefore, this year we are placing the leaf boxes from week 39, one week earlier than normal. There will be a total of 128 temporary leaf boxes in the municipality. There is always one nearby. Look here for the locations.
Leaf baskets are for leaf litter only. Branches, prunings or other garden waste do not belong in them. Leaf litter is collected separately.
The baskets are emptied weekly according to a set route. During emptying we check that there is only leaf litter in them. The municipality makes leaf mulch from the collected leaf and uses it in the planting beds. This way less weeds grow.
Misuse, such as leaving branches, garbage or other waste, may result in the removal of the leaf basket without prior warning (as in previous years with yellow or red Maps).
Sometimes we move or remove a leaf basket. This happens when:
- the hive is difficult for our vehicles to access;
- the basket is often used incorrectly;
- Whether the basket is hardly used.
At the end of December, we will collect all leaf baskets again. Once a hive is removed, no more leaf litter may be placed in that location.
Christmas tree collection after leaf boxes
After the leaf boxes are removed, you can offer your Christmas tree at the same locations. We will collect the trees once, during the week of Jan. 9, 2026.
