More and more seniors in Brabant are using the Internet for banking, contact with family and online purchases. Unfortunately, scammers regularly try to take advantage of this. In 2023, one in ten Dutch people were victims of online scams, which amounts to about 1.4 million people. Research shows that 71% of people over 65 are afraid of online scams. 11% of them have actually become victims.

Free information session for seniors

In Nuenen, we are hosting a free information meeting on online scams. During the meeting you will receive valuable information about various forms of online scams such as WhatsApp fraud, bank helpdesk fraud and phishing. The content of this meeting is similar to the one held in January of this year in Buurthuis Gastvrij.
