Imaging plan Vinkenhofjes in Nuenen city council

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, housing corporation Helpt Elkander presented its plans for the newly built Vinkenhofjes project to the Nuenen City Council. The municipal council responded positively. A decision will be made on this matter later in the municipal council.

Life-proof new construction apartments

The plan is for 61 outdated apartments at the Vinkenhofjes site to make way for 137 life-capable new construction apartments. Life-cycle-proof living means that the home is suitable for continued living in. Even if someone's' living conditions change due to, for example, old age, illness or disability.

Large shortage of social housing for rent

Housing seekers find it difficult to find social housing. The waiting time for a social rental home in the region is currently almost 8 years; this is no different for Nuenen. To solve the housing shortage, Helpt Elkander has a number of new construction projects in preparation. These are projects for the realization of small, lifelong housing for 1 and 2 person households. This includes the Vinkenhofjes.

Location ideally suited for housing seniors

Especially because of the park-like surroundings and the proximity to the Kernkwartier shopping center and the neighborhood meeting place of Gastvrij community center.

"With this project, we expect to initiate a flow of tenants in our housing stock. Seniors will be able to move from a large single-family home to a suitable lifetime apartment. This in turn creates opportunities for families to move on to a large single-family home," said Sylvester Putters, managing director of Helpt Elkander.

Alderman Patrick Kok of the municipality of Nuenen is also enthusiastic: ''Nuenen is meeting the demand of starters and seniors. There is a lot of social housing under development and we can be proud of that.''

Comprehensive participation process

The urban plan of three buildings with different building heights in a green environment has an extensive participation process with various stakeholders. The plan was created in cooperation with the municipality of Nuenen, architectural firm De Loods and construction company Hurks.
