Guidelines election activities in public spaces
1. Election signs within built-up areas
This year, the election signs will be placed at the following locations on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
- Akkerstraat, Gerwen;
- Berg - Broekdijk;
- Boordseweg;
- Europalaan- Geldropsedijk;
- Opwettenseweg - Velakker;
- High Brake - Meierijlaan (near parking lot the Hongerman);
- Eeneind - Geldropsedijk;
- Smits van Oyenlaan - Klamperlaan;
- Avenue of Nuenhem - Smits van Oyenlaan;
- Hoekstraat, Nederwetten t.h.v. "de Kruik";
- Beekstraat t.h.v. Oudenstein;
- Europalaan - De Pinckart;
- Geldropsedijk - Arnold Pootlaan;
- Europalaan - Refeling.
As agreed with the municipality, the election posters will be put up by all participating local political parties at the municipal depot on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, after which these posters will be placed at the above-mentioned locations on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Adhesive staples and nails should not be used when affixing posters, but only adhesives that make it easy to remove the posters after the election.
No posters may be stuck on the back of election signs.
Only posters may be affixed to the sign and must be kept within the original size of the election sign.
Posters must be 84 cm x 60 cm (A1) maximum.
2. Signs outside built-up areas
The placement of signs in the outdoor area is allowed temporarily without a permit, during the elections, up to 6 weeks before the elections and up to 2 weeks after, provided they are not structures requiring an environmental permit.
Structures requiring a permit within the meaning of the Wabo (Environmental Permitting (General Provisions) Act) may not be erected without an environmental permit. If a structure is involved, an environmental permit for the activity of Constructionis required.
3. Election signs on private property
The placement of signs by private individuals on their own property is protected to a certain extent by freedom of expression, as enshrined in the Constitution, for example.
During election periods, election signs may be placed on private property. Naturally, such signs must not cause any danger or nuisance to local residents and/or traffic.
4. Information booth
In connection with the elections, an information stand may be set up for one day during the week before the elections, with the exception of Sunday.
This must be notified at least 14 days in advance to Annemarie van Gerwen and Kimberly Gevers of the Realization Department, Permits, Enforcement, and Safety Cluster via evenementen@nuenen.nl.
Stands may then be set up at the following locations:
- Church Square, Gerwen;
- near community center Enode;
- near Lambert Church, Nederwetten;
- near elementary school "the Wentelwiek";
- Andries Square;
- forecourt Parkhof;
- Vincent van Gogh Square;
- near Kernkwartier Shopping Center.
5. Information booth near weekly market
Political parties are permitted to use a location with an information stand near the market, but not at the weekly market itself, as this is not permitted under Article 10 of the Market Regulations.
An information stand near the market is only permitted on the last market day before the elections.
The market supervisor must be notified of this at least 14 days in advance.
The location of the stand will be determined in consultation with the market supervisor.

Furthermore, flyering is allowed during the taking of a booth, with the condition that any flyers thrown away by the public must be removed after the event.
6. Sound truck
Each political party may use a sound truck once on one of the two Saturdays prior to the election date.
This is only permitted between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

7. Election caravan
Traveling around with an election campaign vehicle is permitted once prior to the elections. This is not permitted on a Sunday.
After 7 p.m., the use of sound systems and/or live music is no longer permitted.

8. Meetings
No party meetings will be allowed in municipal buildings, but activities of all joint parties will be allowed. Meetings in the open air, at a place where this does not meet with objections from the point of view of traffic safety, including the use of the kiosk in the Park, the kiosk on the Hill and the site in front of "the Jug" in Nederwetten are allowed.

9. Propaganda
Within a 50-meter radius of the various polling stations, no propaganda material is allowed to be displayed by participating political parties in any way.
This measure does not apply to municipal election signs placed within a 50-meter radius of the various polling stations.
10. Banners
Hanging banners above or on the road is not permitted.
11. Posters
No election posters may be hung on, on or in municipal buildings.
